About Dr. Jenneffer
“Before you heal someone, ask him if he’s willing to give up the things that make him sick.” —
• Since 2005, Dr. Jenneffer Pulapaka’s expertise in wound care and podiatric surgery has helped thousands of patients. That year, she established her practice, where she currently sees patients and is the Medical Director and Podiatrist at DeLand Foot and Leg Center. Her role encompasses overseeing clinical operations, patient care, and the implementation of medical standards and procedures within the facility. Her dedication to podiatric medicine and patient well-being is reflected through her commitment to advanced treatments and comprehensive foot and leg care.
• In 2019, while finishing her Plant-Based Nutrition Certification and Lifestyle Medicine Practice, she founded the Plant to Plate Patient Garden; because patients want and need healthy, affordable options for fresh vegetables and fruits. There are simple ways to help. One way was by building a free community garden for patients at DFALC- Plant to Plate Patient Garden. Another way is with a physician-driven RX: Veggies & Fruits Patient Program.
• In 2020, she became a Diplomate of the American (International) Board of Lifestyle Medicine (ABLM) DipABLM / DipIBLM – Certified Lifestyle Medicine Physician.
What I Do
Practice, Passion, Women, & Medicine
In 2005, I established my private practice in DeLand and Orange City. I enjoyed both locations until 2008, when I made the decision to focus my care, full-time, in the DeLand community. DFALC was the first female podiatric surgeon’s office in a community where less than 10% of the surgeons were women. It is the first and longest-running female surgical practice in West Volusia County. Therefore, I support the uplifting of women in our society. Please visit WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT PRINCIPLES for my company’s pledge in 2020.
“I believe every patient needs a physician who will be an advocate to help them regain their health”. Her surgical training has taken her to Miami for her residency and the Ilizarov Institute for her fellowship. She was the first certified Women-Owned medical practice in the United States.
Dr. Pulapaka graduated from one of the top three residency programs in the United States in Miami. Her training has taken her to the Yucatan for advanced limb deformity training and a Fellowship in Trauma, Reconstruction, and Limb Deformity from the Ilizarov Institute in Russia. As, the second woman to complete this training in Russia, she states,
“I’m grateful to have studied with some of the world’s most influential podiatrists and with master surgeons for external fixation and osteomyelitis. I emphasized on surgery, wound care, sports medicine, and nail disorders as well as general preventative podiatry care.
In 2013, I began to focus on wound care and limb salvage, a specialty missing in our area; completing my Certified Wound Specialist Physician (CWSP) in 2016. In August 2016, I was certified with the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry – Prevention and Treatment of Diabetic Foot Wounds and Diabetic Footwear. I also became Board Certified with the American Board of Wound Healing – Physician Certification in Wound Care (PCWC).
To that end finally, in 2020 I became the first podiatrist Board Certified Diplomate with the American College of Lifestyle Medicine and retired from my position with the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons to pursue a sustainable medical path. “
We have thousands of satisfied patients. Dr. Pulapaka is the highest-rated podiatrist in DeLand. Please read Dr. Pulapaka’s curriculum vitae to learn about her background and education. Dr. Pulapaka’s husband and global renowned Chef Hari Pulapaka has been a driving force along with her family. Their support has enabled her to be successful.
